Jennifer Ellision

Meet Jennifer: Jennifer Ellision spent a great deal of her childhood staying up past her bedtime with a book and a flashlight. When she couldn’t find the stories she wanted to read, she started writing them. She loves words, has a soft spot for fanfiction, and is a master of the fangirl flail. She lives in South Florida with her family, where she lives in fear of temperatures below 60 Fahrenheit. She’s also one of the bloggers behind the book blog, The Bevy Bibliotheque.

Her debut Young Adult epic fantasy, Threats of Sky and Sea, will be available May 20, 2014.

Ru De Muse

The other day I got a call from the studio manager Lesilie Cordosa at Montana Pritchards Photography Studio. She asked me if I could come in the next day to help create the set for a photo shoot. Luckily my schedule was free, I gladly said yes. The name of the shoot - Rue de Muse. Ru De Muse is an upcoming, high-end online boutique, started by Montana Pritchard and Sloane Sapan. Montana is a local photographer here in South Florida, while Sloane is a stylist. The plan was to have two beautiful models wearing lingerie in a boudoir setting. Montana had some tears and I assembled the mood board. The mood was sensual, soft, and edgy and all the focus was on the models. Montana and I shopped all around West Palm Beach FL. We found some great dark blue satin fabric with a simple flower pattern at a fabric shop. Next stop, The Home Depot! Montana and I wanted to create thee flats for one large wall. We also got some baseboard and trim for a footboard. Montana found some great Victorian stencil to accent the walls with. The set design was to be very dark. Quite naturally the focus point is the model, so we had to be carful not to put anything into the frame that would take away form her. As much as I pushed for a chandelier, there just wasn't room. The set took about 10 hours to assemble from thought to finish.

The next morning everyone arrived. Montana’s assistant Lauren brought out lights, and I spent the rest of the morning vacuuming and tweaking the set. Picture frames went up and down, while furniture was moved around. The makeup artist Sandy Maranesi, and the hair stylist Amanda Parisi did a beautiful job on the models. Courtney Bingham and Choice Gray are the talented and gorgeous models represented by ELITE MIAMI.

Seeing the end product is the best part. To pull of a shoot like this takes a lot of work and talented people. I know that I couldn't do it alone. The artists I worked with made the project more exciting. When you are around creative people, you yourself get more creative. In my field of work I know I will always work in a group. I don't mind it one bit. I feel blessed to be a part of any film or photo project. I love it, I always have and always will.

PGA All Day!

Here are the videos I made about the awesome PGA Catalog Shoot. I had the privilege to assist on the shoot and meet Justin, the Art Director and Kristen, the Project Manager. The shoot took place at Montana Pritchard’s Studio in West Palm Beach FL. The studio was crowded with boxes that were shipped from all over the country. They were full of shirts, sweaters, jackets and hats. There were also all different kinds of items like cups, umbrellas and golf gear! Montana’s photos came out perfect as always! P.S. This was the day that I fell in love with steamers and said goodbye to irons!

WALK WALK FASHION BABY

Anyone who knows me can tell you that I have a serious love for fashion. But what I love more is fashion for a cause! The Alliance for Eating Disorder Awareness is a non-p​rofit organization based out of West Palm Beach that is actively working to prevent 
eating disorders and to actively promote a positive body image. They threw a beautiful fundraiser fashion show called "Escape to Reality" in an airplane hanger! Even the event voucher looked like an airplane ticket. The first thing I noticed about the show was the wonderful art direction--white fabric that looked like silk chiffon hung from the ceiling, bright blue lights and music to get you amped! The models were so energetic, wearing cute Hawaiian and sailor inspired outfits. They came in all shapes and sizes, and even included local celebrities like the mayor! At the end of the show, I had the chance to meet Johanna Kandel, the founder of the organization. Montana took fabulous photos of us on the runway; maybe we will be recruited as the models for next year?!

Reef Roadin' it

Back in October, I met one of the best photographers ever, Montana Pritchard. Montana hired me as a photographer's assistant. My first mission: Reef Road! Reef Road is a restaurant in downtown West Palm Beach. Our job was to first shoot the interior. The restaurant has these awesome light fixtures made out of actual blow fish! When we shot Reef Road's food and drinks, it was so hard to resist. After the shoot we had lunch there and let me tell you, it was out-of-this-world good!! I learned a lot and had fun, and even got a bite out of it!
